Asha Hariharan is Founder and Director of Beyond The Fringe Salons in Hong Kong & Mumbai and Asha Hariharan Academy in Mumbai.

Asha was Student of the Year, consistently topping all semesters at the Renowned REVER HAIR ACADEMY in Hong Kong. She then completed a Salon and Business Management Course. Asha trained for 9 months at the prestigious Vidal Sassoon under the master himself.

Back in Hong Kong, Asha completed a 6 month course in Trichology at the pioneering Svenson’s Hair Institute for Trichology, where she studied and trained on the floor, assisting in-house doctors and trichologists.

Asha worked with leading Magazines and Shows only to open up Beyond The Fringe Salons in Hong Kong and Australia, which went on to be crowned as the world’s top 3 Asian salons by Paris Magazine “ PASSION”.

Wanting to master “Fashion Hair”, on guidance from mentors in Vidal Sassoon, Asha went to Christian Chaveau School in Paris for a course in FASHION MAKEUP.

She acquired her competence in Beauty Aesthetics Science under Frederique Deleage with certification from the International Therapy Examination Council – ITEC of England and BABTAC UK. In addition, she trained with Eve Taylor, the world-renowned expert in Aroma Therapy.

Asha worked with June Dally Watkins the foremost name in International Fashion and Model Coordination in Australia. Her work with fashion icon Coco CHANEL and Hair & Make-Up shows for Wella and prestigious projects for BOURJOUIS (France), CLARINS, professional shoots for BENETTON and FOGAL has added to the richness of her experience.

She has worked with world famous photographers like Dinshaw Bulsara, Ian Golding, Richard Whitefield and Robert Lamb.

Asha has been awarded “Best Hairdresser" by Wella several times. In February 1999, at the Salon International Competition in Mumbai, Asha won top honours in all 5 events – Look of The Year, Wild & Whacky (2nd), Best Hairdresser Male (1st), Best Hairdresser – Female (2nd) and Bride of The Year (1st). She has won the All India Finals of the L’Oreal Color Trophy Award for 2006 in addition to the Cosmopolitan Fashion Award at the same competition.  She added the Wella Gold Trophy for Color in 2009.

She has just completed designing and executing Rituparna Sen Gupta’s character amongst others for the movie “Tere Aaane Se” . She did the same for Priyanka Chopra’s 12 roles for her film “What’s Your Rashee” (Ashutosh Gowarikar) released in September 2009. She has also designed and executed Hema Malini’s look for her film “Ek Rani Aisi  Bhi Thi” and for her look as Judge of the TV programDancing Queen.

Asha was COLOUR BRAND AMBASSADOR for Wella India for the period 2009-2012.
